Also, many teachers find it difficult to balance developing students’ communicative abilities and their ability to pass entrance examinations. In this paper, I explain how I applied a process approach to high school writing classes and how I modified writing tasks in a workbook to make them more communicative. I argue that a process approach in writing is beneficial for students in developing critical thinking skills as well as grammatical knowledge through peer feedback and opinion exchanges.
